Introduction
The BCP-008 series defines status-monitoring recommendations for NMOS Devices. It provides a consistent way for monitoring systems and operators to understand the operational state of stream Receivers and Senders.
The suite is divided into two complementary recommendations:
- BCP-008-01: NMOS Receiver Status Monitoring covers the status of stream Receivers, including connectivity, synchronization, and stream validation.
- BCP-008-02: NMOS Sender Status Monitoring covers the status of stream Senders, including connectivity, synchronization, and essence validation.
The recommendations use the NMOS Control Framework and NMOS Control Protocol to expose monitoring models and status information. They should be read alongside the relevant NMOS specifications:
- MS-05-02: NMOS Control Framework
- IS-12: NMOS Control Protocol
- IS-04: NMOS Discovery and Registration
- IS-05: NMOS Device Connection Management
